Prepress File Formats

The preferred file format for our prepress department is the Adobe Acrobat PDF format. However, just because a file is a PDF doesn't mean it will be usable for quality printing. Please contact our prepress department for the details of how to create a PDF for high resolution printing.

Our prepress department can handle a number of different native file formats on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms.

As of June 2007, we support the following native application files:

• On the Macintosh platform:
• Quark Xpress - versions 4.1 - 7.0
• Pagemaker - versions 6.0 - 7.0
• InDesign - up to version CS3
• Illustrator - up to version CS3
• Photoshop - up to version CS3
• Acrobat - up to version 8.0

• On the Windows platform
• QuarkXpress - version 4.1
• Pagemaker - versions 6.5 - 7.0
• InDesign - version 2.0
• Illustrator - version 8.0
• Photoshop - 5.0
• Acrobat - version 7.0

Keep in mind that a number of appplications are cross-platform compatible so if you don't see the version you use on the platform you use, call us and we may still be able to work with your native files.
